Aquaponic is a synergistic fusion of hydroponics
(growing
plants in water) and aquaculture (fish farming). While the fish
fertilize the plants with natural nutrients of its waste products, the
plants in turn filter the water for the fish.
The integration of plants and fish necessitates that
NO chemical pesticides be used.It is an eloquent, balanced, organic
system.
Raising fish and growing vegetables is one activity
worth
exploring. Enjoy the great taste and advantages of fresh, natural and
healthy food. You will help reduce worldwide demand
for scare
resources and mitigate the rising food cost.
Go for this Eco-friendly way of producing sustainable
fish
and vegetables for your own consumption. Aquaponic works well for those
with limited space too. Take action and start the journey!

Help with growing indoor plants!?
I am growing some herbs. Chives, cilantro, basil, and parsley. The plants themselves are doing great. However I am noticing something white and fuzzy growing on the surface of the soil. I don't have much of a green thumb and this is my first time growing these kinds of things. Is this harmful? Can I kill it? Is there a spray I can buy or a home remedy that I can try? All Input is appreciated Thank you
Any tips on growing indoor herbs in glass jars?
I want to grow some herbs on my window ledge for use in cooking, and I've heard about using open top glass jars as the pots. I'd be growing these from the seed and won't be moving them outdoors due to the abundance of cats that like to mark their territory everywhere. Can any one give me some advice on what to do or look out for or problems that may arise?I'm aware of drainage issues due to the lack of holes inside the jar how can this be overcome? Other than not over watering, of course I've seen sites discuss placing sand and pebbles at the bottom of the jar to create some form of artificial drainage, but would this be sufficient and if so, how best would this be achieved?Or perhaps, would it just be more reasonable to use normal and standard pots? Thanks
